Piano, Anyone?

I went to a garage sale on Sat. and bought some books, overpriced video's, & a house decoration. Little did I realize that the real prize awaited around the corner and it wouldn't cost me a thing.
I finished at the garage sale and started driving down the road when I spotted a piano out of the corner of my eye just sitting out on the curb amongst the brush collection. I couldn't believe it so I had to turn around. I parked right in front of piano and got out of the car to look at it. I played it a bit and it seemed out of tune, one key was nicked a bit but other than that it seemed alright. I knew had to rescue this piano from the depths of the brush collection. Nessa took a look at it & also and agreed that I had to talk to the owners of the house to see if I could have the piano.
I went right up and rang the doorbell of the house the piano was sitting in front of and I asked the lady who answered if I could have the piano. She told me that I could certainly have it for free! I was ecstatic and made a few phone calls to see if I could track down a truck and a few men to help me move to my house. Since the lady was in a hurry, she had me set a time to pick it up and had her husband move it back into their garage. This was very nice of her since I had seen four trucks drive by in the process of me talking to her. I knew it would disappear fast.
I made all of the necessary arrangements and went back at 5 p.m. to pick up the piano. The owner's were very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. She made sure her husband didn't forget to give the piano bench and then she threw a little desk that Nessa loves for homework. All for free! I couldn't believe it because it was like the piano just fell on my lap from the sky. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Hopie and Jared thought I was crazy all that day until now that they've seen the piano. Well, what do you think?

It's gorgeous, Julie. It looks like a console piano rather than an upright grand like mine, and i personally like consoles much better, they are much easier to move around (ours, for example, took four guys to get into the house, and even then it scratched up the floor). I have to come over again sometime and see it. I see you've got curtains on the windows, too - it's been months since I've been over!! Since before Noah was born, I think. Wow! I think it's been since last summer!

Hooray for you. I've always fantasized about finding a piano like that because I've heard of it happening to someone once. I'm so glad to see it happened to you. And, it looks great.
